- Your Digital Media Collection account has a few differences from you regular library account.
- The maximum DMC items you can have checked out at one time is 3

- To access your DMC account visit the DMC web page and click on the link "Sign In" in the upper right corner of the page.
- Your Digital Media Collection account has a few differences from you regular library account.
- To return Digital Media Collection items, the items must be first downloaded and then may be returned using the following instructions:
- Automatic Returns: At the end of the loan period, and the customer is not required to take any action, both eBooks and Audiobooks from the Digital Media Collection are removed automatically.
- Checking Out The Wrong Format - Please verify that your device is supported before checking out eBooks or Audiobooks. In case you checkout the wrong format, the library can not cancel Digital Media Collection checkouts. Customers who check out the wrong format have two options:
- Do nothing, simply wait for the checkout to expire, the item will return automatically at the end of the checkout period.
- Customer may download the item on a device that does support that format, and then return the item as described in the steps outlined above.
- The PIN number keyed in does not match the PIN number on record. If you do not know your PIN, try either the last 4 digits of your SSN, the last 4 digits of your library card #, CHANGEME, or 1111. You can Request that your PIN be sent to you through the Ask A Question service. Visit the PIN Information page for more information. You may also call Circulation at (901)415-2702) to verify your PIN number.
- The library card has overdues or outstanding fines. Visit the Late Fees and Lost items page for more information. While this will prevent access to the e-audio service, one can log in to " My Account" to view any fines and/or overdues.
- The library card has expired (MPLIC cards must be renewed annually.) To check the status of your account call Circulation at (901) 415-2702. To renew your card present proof of residence at any MPLIC library. Visit the Library Card Information page for more information.
- If you are certain your library card is current, and you still have problems trying to log in, try using your web browsers Refresh option (Function Key 5) before clicking on the link to "Sign In." Then click on the "Sign In" link, and type in your card number and pin number. If your browser tries to automatically fill those in, delete those and type in your correct information.
The intention of this limit is to prevent the possible abuse of the system that could occur with someone checking out a title, transferring it to a device, returning it to the library without deleting the file from the device, checking out another title and repeating, thus allowing more than three titles to be on their device at the same time.
Unfortunately, this limit can also have the unintended effect of penalizing someone who is simply a speedy reader, and wants to return titles early so that others can enjoy them.
The library continues to monitor and discuss this issue with our vendor. In the meantime, we regret the inconvenience.
