How do I return eBooks using Adobe Digital Editions?

  1. Open Adobe Digital Editions.
  2. Select the 'Library View' icon (in the upper left corner). The Adobe Digital Editions library is displayed.
  3. Under the 'Bookshelves' heading, select 'Borrowed'.
  4. Click the eBook you want to return.
  5. Click the 'Item Options' arrow (in the upper left corner of the selected eBook).
  6. Select 'Return Borrowed Item'.
  7. Click 'Return' to verify that you want to return the eBook. The eBook is returned.

How do I return Kindle eBooks using the Manage Your Kindle Web Page?

  1. Browse to the Manage Your Kindle Web Page and Log in.
  2. Click on the "Actions" button to the right of your title. Select "Return this book."

How do I return eBooks using OverDrive Media Console App for Android and Kindle Fire?

  1. Tap and hold the eBook you want to return. The title menu is displayed.
  2. Tap 'Delete' to display the return options.

  4. Tap 'Return and Delete'. The eBook is returned and deleted.

Mistaken Format Returns

If you checkout the wrong format by mistake and wish to return it early you will have to follow a three step process. (You also choose to do nothing, and wait for the checkout period to expire automatically.)

  • Install the software required by the format
  • Download the title
  • Use the software to return the item

Log in to your Digital Media Collection account, go to the section listing the titles you currently have checked out. Examine the title there to determine what format it is and what software is required. You will need to download and install the required software. Once the required software is installed, return to you account and download the title. After you have downloaded the title using the software, follow the return instructions below for each specific format.   Go back to the eBook and Audiobook Help page.
