Between November 1965 and November 1966 construction of a new 10,000 square foot library
for the Raleigh community at the current location on Powers Road was completed.
The Raleigh Branch library has been a popular attraction to the residents of its community ever since.
In 1997, the Raleigh Branch of the Memphis/Public Library & Information Center
checked out over 210,000 items, answering over 60,000 information questions, and serving over
225,000 library customers.
