Purpose: To serve as a catalyst for economic development by providing high quality, innovative programs, which strengthen and support small business enterprises in an environment that exceeds customer expectations in the mission of the Center.
Eligibility: Persons living in the corporate limits of the City of Memphis who are seeking to open a business in the city of Memphis or receive technical assistance.
Fee: Clients are not charged a fee for services.  Occasionally, however, there may be fees associated with various courses, or workshops offered at RBC.  In these cases, individuals will be notified.
Services: The RBC has unlimited resources to ensure the growth and profitability of your business. We are committed to supporting existing area businesses and increasing our economic base by attracting new companies. Services we provide include:

  • Economic Information
  • Marketing & Training
Special loan programs that are available are Contractors Assistance Program (CAP) and Memphis Business Opportunity Fund (MBOF).

Business development services include:
  • Management and technical assistance
  • Business analysis for operations and control
  • Application preparation for procurement process
  • Sources for debt and equity financing
  • Database and profiles of companies in the Memphis area
  • Market expansion through export development, technology and incentive assistance
Technical assistance programs provide one-on-one counseling, cash-flow analysis, marketing and advertising, and certifications. A resource library is available with computers, Internet access, printers/copiers, and reference material. Seminars and training are held on:

  • Developing a Business Plan
  • Small Business Accounting
  • Tax Preparation
