The Bike Technician for Explore Bike Share (EBS) will execute the bike operations, service and maintenance duties in alignment with company strategy and business goals. The Bike Technician will complete bike maintenance and repairs, battery charging and swapping, and rebalancing, recordkeeping, and equipment cleaning. This position reports to the Fleet Manager.
Responsibilities ● E-Bike maintenance and repair, re-balancing, battery charging and swapping, training and development, recordkeeping, and inventory; ● Develop a strong understanding of bike share products, and customer needs; ● Work with management to ensure effective execution of all programs and events; and ● Adhere to the policies and procedures of Explore Bike Share. Proficiencies ● Ability to work on a team, and with senior leaders and management; ● Ability to execute bike share operations; ● Ability to organize large inventories of vehicles, equipment, parts and supplies; ● Knowledge of bike share systems, maintenance, repairs, software and apps, and inventory systems; and ● Proficiency with BCycle App, RFID cards and BCycle Admin. Duties ● Complete regularly scheduled repairs and maintenance, including re-balancing, battery charging and swapping; ● Ensure the detailed inventory and organization of the bike share resources; ● Assist with community events and educational programs; ● Serve as an Explore Bike Share spokesperson with the general public; and ● Other duties as assigned by the Bike Fleet Manager. Performance Measures ● Repair and timely maintenance, re-balancing and battery swapping of bikes and e-bikes; ● Inventory of all vehicles, parts and equipment; ● Customer interaction and service; and ● Recordkeeping for all bike share data and systems. Working Conditions & Requirements ● Indoor work (approx. 50%), outdoor work (approx. 50%); ● Physical requirements – biking, commercial van operation with clean driving record, lifting <75 lbs., stooping, and standing; and ● Weekend work may be necessary up to 50% depending on schedule.
