Library customers, ages 18 and older, will dive deep into discussion with up-and-coming author Faira Walker at a meet and greet Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Cordova Library (8457 Trinity Road). Light refreshments will be served.
The Memphis native will discuss her upcoming book, which will focus on her relationship with her father who left their family when she was a child. The coming-of-age story will showcase the power of forgiveness and will explore the possibilities of reconciliation.
Program organizer and adult services librarian Andrea King said customers will also learn steps to becoming a published writer during the free program.
“Faira is a devoted wife, mother of three beautiful children, and one of the most inspiring women I have ever met,” King commented. “I’m sure customers will feel empowered by her story as well.”
