Entrepreneurial training (non-credit)
FasTrac I "Defining and Launching Your Venture" designed for people
who have just started or are planning to open their own business.
Class meets 3hrs/week for eleven weeks.
FasTrac II "Growing Your Business" designed for people who have an
established business, but want to further develop it. Class
meets 3hrs/week for thirteen weeks.Academic classes (**for academic
credit)
Entrepreneurship (Management 4820) - Class will examine personal and
business issues critical to building a business. Students will develop
a complete business plan for starting a business.
Electronic Commerce for Entrepreneurs (Marketing 4923/6923) - Students
will learn how to utilize state-of-the-art advances in information
technology to identify, analyze and exploit entrepreneurial opportunities.
Financing Entrepreneurial Ventures (Accounting 4929/6929) - Students
will examine and learn to apply the financial techniques and tools
needed by an entrepreneur to start and grow their business.
Entrepreneurial Marketing (Marketing 4924/6924) - The objective
of this course is to provide the entrepreneur an understanding of
entrepreneurial marketing and how marketing in a new or growing entrepreneurial
firm differs from marketing in large firms. Students will develop
an entrepreneurial firm marketing plan.
Distribution Decisions for Entrepreneurs: Franchising and Licensing
(Proposed Spring 2000) - This course will explore the activities required
to develop and manage franchises through an analysis of the relevant
topics in operations management, business law, marketing, retailing,
and real estate development.
