Civil War Collection
The History Department's Civil War Collection is a good place to begin research on Civil War topics. In addition to general Civil War coverage, there is a major emphasis on Tennessee Civil War history.
This collection will help answer questions on all aspects of the Civil War including military records of individual soldiers, regimental histories, and personal memoirs, as well as general information on particular battles, campaigns, and generals.
Library materials on the Civil War can be found in the catalog under the subject heading United States -- History -- Civil War. The collection includes:
- Circulating Books
- Reference Sources
- Microfilm
- Videocassettes
- Tennessee Confederate and Union Service Records (Microfilm) Indexed in Tennesseans in the Civil War.
