International Storytimes Now @ #CentralLibrary!

1Story Time - croppedTravel from Puerto Rico to Germany, Mexico to Poland and then Italy! It’s possible at International Storytimes now at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Avenue). Also offered at Cordova Library, International Storytimes offer families the same great cultural experiences from around the world, without leaving the City!

Stories from each country will be followed by arts and crafts, music, and refreshments – all from the featured country. Children’s librarian and program organizer Phyllis Taylor said International Storytimes are a fun way to celebrate our expanding multicultural society. “Kids meet students from other cultures every day at school,” Taylor noted. “They can play together without being cognizant of their friends’ skin color or nationality. This storytime allows Library customers of all ages to celebrate our differences, while noticing our many similarities,” she said.

The schedule of storytimes at Central Library will continue throughout the year.

  • Saturday, September 12, 2015 – Germany
