MEMPHIS READS: MAKING THE MOOSE OUT OF LIFE by Nicholas Oldland

Darletha reviews MAKING THE MOOSE OUT OF LIFE by Nicholas Oldland (Kids Can Press, Tonawanda, NY 2010.)

Although I am aware that the Memphis Reads blog usually highlights books for adults, I can’t help but share what an enjoyable book this is!

This is a story about a moose who apparently doesn’t know how to have fun. He never joins his beaver and bear friends in their adventures. When he realizes something is missing from his life, and meditation and web searches fail him, he embarks on a new course in his life that changes him for the better.

This funny picture book contains an encouraging message for all ages, reminding us to take risks and enjoy life! This is a book that I would give as a gift the same way many share Dr. Seuss’ book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go.
