MPLIC Spring Break Busters
The Memphis Public Library has lots of events planned for children and teens during Spring Break Monday, March 12 to Friday, March 16. Here is a look at some of the events scheduled for your community library branch.
Monday, March 12
- Skill Toys Program, Whitehaven Library Branch, 4120 Millbranch Road. Children and Teens can learn about famous jugglers, magicians, and popular skill toys from around the word. The event begins at 2 pm.
- Spring Break Boredom Busters, Raleigh Library Branch, 3157 Powers Road. This is a special event that will continue through March 16, 2012, at 10 am for children ages 6-14. Call 415-2778 to register.
- Pyramid Book Club, North Library Branch, 1192 Vollintine. This event begins at 4 pm. Teens will read and discuss the book of the month.
Tuesday, March 13
- Fun with Science, Whitehaven Library Branch, 4120 Millbranch Road. Teens will create bouncy balls, and learn more about chemical reactions with hands on activities. The program begins at 2 pm.
- Game Day, North Library Branch, 1192 Vollintine. This event begins at 4 pm. Teens will play board games, word puzzles, and brainteasers.
- Spring Into Reading, Cornelia Crenshaw Library Branch, 531 Vance Avenue. This event is for children and begins at 12 noon.
- Board Games for Teens, South Library Branch, 1929 South Third Street. The event begins at 1 pm.
- Game Day, South Library Branch, 1929 South Third Street. This event is for Children and begins at 1 pm.
Wednesday, March 14
- Ocean Theme Printmaking, Whitehaven Library Branch, 4120 Millbranch Road. Dixon Art Gallery Arts and Crafts program. Teens will learn about ocean life. The event begins at 2 pm.
- Book Worm Book Club, North Library Branch, 1192 Vollintine. This event begins at 4 pm. Children will read and discuss mystery stories.
- Spring-Ding, South Library Branch, 1929 South Third Street. The craft event is for Children and begins at 1 pm.
Thursday, March 15
- Game Day, Whitehaven Library Branch, 4120 Millbranch Road. Children and Teens will learn about videogame careers and play Wii and board games. The program begins at 2 pm.
- Zombie Invasion @ the Library, Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Avenue. Join us for a discussion on zombie books. You can temporarily turn into a zombie for a parade through the library. No registration required. 2- 4 pm. Teens.
- St. Patrick’s Day Crafts, Frayser Library, 3712 Argonne. Children ages (5-12, 3-4pm) teen craft time 4-5 pm. Children and teens will make St. Patrick’s Day crafts.
- Teen Time, 1530 N. Hollywood. The event begins at 3:30 pm.
- Electronic Game Day, Cornelia Crenshaw Library Branch, 531 Vance Avenue. This event is for teens. 12 noon -3 pm.
- Teens Triple T, Book Club, Cordova Branch, 8457 Trinity Rd, 4 pm.
