Library's Mobile Career Center Celebrates 20th Anniversary - Hosts Career and Education Fair

Since 1990, the wheels on the JobLINC bus have been rolling through neighborhoods across the City, providing expert advice to job-seekers on resume preparation and interviewing techniques. Internet access and job openings are among the reasons customers climb on board the 35-foot mobile career center.

To celebrate JobLINC’s 20th anniversary, the Memphis Public Library & Information Center hosted a well-attended speaker series on topics ranging from internet job searches to finding a job if you have a blemished past.

On Wednesday, June 30, from to 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar, JobLINC will sponsor a Career and Education Fair to culminate the anniversary activities. The Career Fair is for adults 18 and over. Admission is free and 35 organizations have confirmed attendance.

Fair organizer Robyn Stone recommends attendees bring a resume, dress to impress, and be prepared to talk to hiring decision-makers. “You may get an interview on the spot.”
