There’s an exciting line up of authors coming to the Library’s WYPL studios to tape interviews for the Book Talk program.

The public is invited to attend broadcast tapings. However, seating is limited. Audience members should arrive early.

The WYPL studios are located at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar. For more information, call 415-2752.

Book Talk Schedule

  • Tuesday, July 20, 3:30 p.m. – Tess Gerritsen “Ice Cold” (Ballantine) Also, the TNT series “Rizzoli and Isles”, based on her books, premiered Monday, July 12th.
  • Thursday, July 22, 10:30 a.m. – Alex Heard The Eyes of Willie McGee” (HarperCollins) This real-life rape trial in Jim Crow-era Mississippi was one of the inspirations for “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
  • Thursday, July 22, 2:00 p.m. – Denise Hildreth “Hurricanes in Paradise” (Tyndale) A posh resort is the stage for sets the stage for drama.
  • Thursday, July 29 2:00 p.m. Dianne Glave Rooted in the Earth: Reclaiming the African American Environmental Heritage” (Chicago Review Press) Environmental historian Dianne Glave beacons a return of the preservation-conservation relationship blacks have had with nature since ancestral time.
