Can’t decide between great music and great books? Jazz lovers who attend this year’s Five Fridays of Jazz Concert Series at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Ave.) won’t have to. Second Editions Bookstore, located in the lobby of Central Library, will be open late to accommodate concert-goers who want to find a few good reads while enjoying date night.
With sales each month on selected material – Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Domestic Art in March – customers can stretch a few dollars a long way. Friends of the Library members get an additional 10 percent off purchases during the first week of each month. Buying at Second Editions, which offers gently-used items at an average sale price of $3, also supports programs and services of Memphis Public Libraries!
While unwinding from the week listening to soulful jazz music, customers can shop among books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, VHS, cookbooks, children’s books and a variety of other specialty items throughout the store.
Second Editions Bookstore is open daily, Mondays – Thursdays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Sundays, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. For more information about Second Editions, call (901) 415-2836.
