Teach For America (TFA) invites aspiring changemakers to join our two-year training and certification program, designed to cultivate leaders in the education system. As a Memphis Corps Member, you will teach in a low-income community, fostering academic success and building strong relationships with students, families, and fellow educators. Beyond the classroom, you’ll join a dynamic network of leaders dedicated to reimagining education for a brighter, more equitable future.
What You’ll Do
As a Teach For America Corps Member, you will:
- Serve as a full-time teacher in a low-income community.
- Partner with parents, fellow educators, and local organizations to uplift students.
- Teach Pre-K through 12th grade in a variety of subjects, including:
- Science, Math, Computer Science, STEM
- English Language Arts, Reading, Humanities
- Special Education, Spanish/Bilingual Education, ESL
- History and Social Studies
- Gain hands-on teaching experience while working toward certification.
- Become part of a nationwide movement dedicated to educational equity.

Program Benefits
As a Teach For America Corps Member, you will receive:

Minimum Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (in any field of study).
- Be a U.S. citizen, national, legal resident, EAD holder, or have DACA status.
- No prior teaching experience required—TFA welcomes candidates from all backgrounds.
