For nearly a decade, Communities In Schools of Memphis (CISM) has been changing lives and improving our community by eliminating barriers to success for students and empowering them to achieve in life. CISM is part of a national network with over 40 years of proven impact in communities across America.
We’re looking for specialists to join our team for the 2023-24 school year. This role is perfect for:
College grads majoring in education, psychology/counseling, social work, youth development, and related fields
Teachers who want to transition into a role focusing on 1-to-1 connections with students and families
Professionals with demonstrated work or volunteer experience in education, social services, mental health, or a related field who want to change career paths
We believe relationships, not programs, change the trajectory of life for at-risk students. CISM Student Support Specialists amplify the power of each student’s potential by:
Partnering with teachers to identify challenges students face in class and at home
Working 1-on-1 with students and implementing our unique model to connect them to the personalized community resources they need to be successful, ranging from food, clothing, and school supplies to health care, counseling, academic assistance, or a positive role model
