Memphis Libraries Comic Com. Featured Guest Mike Norton. Former Memphian Mike Norton is the creator of the Eisner and Harvey award-winning webcomic Battlepug, and is also the co-creator and artist of Revival and Grumble. He has worked for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and just about everybody else. Featured guest John Ostrander. If you have a favorite comic character or universe, there's a good chance John Ostrander has written some of those stories. John has written comics for The Suicide Squad, the X-Men, Star Wars, Firestorm, Batmas, the Spectre and Grimjack, among countless others.

Hey, fans of comics, movies, anime, manga, video games and pop culture in general! We are thrilled to present the inaugural Memphis Libraries Comic Con on Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library! Come join legendary comic creators Mike Norton and John Ostrander as well as more than 40 local vendors selling art, comics, toys, prints, graphic novels, art supplies, knick-knacks and more! John and Mike will be signing all day and will take part in a panel discussion discussing their work and the state of comics in general.

We will have:

  • Free graphic novels for the first 200 in attendance  (We have Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Big Nate, Hilo, Squirrel Girl, Miles Morales, Black Panther, Pokemon and My Hero Academia, to name just a few)!
  • Arts and crafts, story time and face painting for the little ones!
  • Cosplay contest for teens and adults with the winners receiving gift cards from 901 Comics!
  • A trivia contest with the winners also receiving gift cards from 901 Comics!
  • A cosplay parade for all the little ones!
  • Food trucks for hungry comic fans!

  • Noon: Trivia contest
  • 1:00 PM: Cosplay contest (teens and adults divisions)
  • 1:30 PM: Children’s storytime
  • 2:00 PM: Panel discussion with Mike Norton and John Ostrander
