Gray Television (WMC-TV)- News Director Needed


WMC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Memphis, TN seeks a News Director to lead our award-winning news department.

The successful candidate will bring an established record of recruiting, developing and retaining a diverse newsroom.

Candidates will have examples of creative approaches to cross-platform content creation as well as a history of managing financial, technical and human resources.

You will be called upon to provide strategic direction for daily news coverage, as well as work closely with the General Manager on long range planning, station initiatives and be able to demonstrate a history of cross functional collaboration.

 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

– Five years of previous experience in newsroom leadership is required, as well as strong communication and organizational skills– A degree in Journalism or Mass Communications is preferred– Candidate must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen and MVR check– Ability to work closely with other station department heads and fellow managers within the company– Ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple tasks

Preferred Education

Bachelors or better.
