Responsibilities:
- Champion of executing safety strategy and instilling a culture of excellence
- Monitor daily activities for compliance with OSHA, MSHA and traffic safety rules and policy
- Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
- Perform audits and evaluations of job activities
- Responsible for all accident investigations, including after action reviews (AAR)
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
- Prepare educational seminars and topics on a regular basis
- Review existing policies and procedures and ensure company compliance
- Document worker’s compensation claims
- Set up a new employee onboarding process for safety
- Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies
Requirements Required:
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
- Ability to travel to locations from SW TN to NW MS
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous practices
- Experience producing reports and documentation
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Critical thinker; problem-solving skills; organizational skills
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills; team player
Requirements Preferred:
- 3 years of experience preferred in these areas: Safety Coordinator, construction experience; paving operations, asphalt plant or sand and gravel mining
- Formal safety training in OSHA 30 and 510
- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
