Lehman – Roberts is seeking a Safety Coordinator


Responsibilities:

  • Champion of executing safety strategy and instilling a culture of excellence
  • Monitor daily activities for compliance with OSHA, MSHA and traffic safety rules and policy
  • Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
  • Perform audits and evaluations of job activities
  • Responsible for all accident investigations, including after action reviews (AAR)
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
  • Prepare educational seminars and topics on a regular basis
  • Review existing policies and procedures and ensure company compliance
  • Document worker’s compensation claims
  • Set up a new employee onboarding process for safety
  • Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies

 Requirements Required:

  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
  • Ability to travel to locations from SW TN to NW MS
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous practices
  • Experience producing reports and documentation
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Critical thinker; problem-solving skills; organizational skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills; team player

 Requirements Preferred:

  • 3 years of experience preferred in these areas: Safety Coordinator, construction experience; paving operations, asphalt plant or sand and gravel mining
  • Formal safety training in OSHA 30 and 510
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics

Environmental Working Conditions:

The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position.

  • Office environment (25%)
  • Daytime travel within local area (75%)
  • Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions
  • Work may entail visits to multiple sites in which incumbent could be exposed to loud noise, dust, and odor
