WMC Action News 5 is looking for an experienced Meteorologist to join our First Alert Weather team. This is a temporary, part-time position, ideal for a dynamic and engaging individual passionate about delivering accurate and compelling weather forecasts across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze weather data to create accurate forecasts.
- Present forecasts for TV, digital, and social media audiences.
- Track and communicate severe weather updates.
- Collaborate with news managers and producers to inform and plan coverage.
- Develop weather graphics using advanced meteorological systems.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a broadcast meteorologist.
- Strong familiarity with WSI MAX; experience with Baron Lynx preferred.
- Degree in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, especially during severe weather events.
- AMS/NWA seals preferred but not required.
