Administrative Assistant I (Part-Time) (Open May 13 - May 27)
Provide secretarial support to Manager by typing, making appointments, handling
correspondence, reports/projects and performing other general office functions, usually
of a confidential nature; and utilize computer equipment and various software programs
in the performance of job duties.
High school diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.) plus
2-4 years’ experience in office administration including composition of
correspondence/reports, record maintenance and proficiency in data entry/computer
software applications. Must have successfully completed appropriate
Clerical/Secretarial and Training Programs for promotional progression. Must have
knowledge of Division policies and procedures. Must demonstrate ability to transcribe.
Must pass Division typing test of 50 w.p.m. Must have a valid driver’s license from
state of residence.
Works in office under good conditions. Subject to occasional kneeling, bending,
stooping, crouching, reaching, light lifting and standing for long periods of time while
filing and obtaining office supplies, and occasional eye fatigue and sitting for long
periods of time while working on computer.
Field Repairer Water Meters (Open May 13 - June 3)
Install, repair and maintain ¾ inch to 2-inch residential/commercial
water meters/associated parts and water meter boxes in the field.
Must have knowledge and skills in the repair, inspection and
replacement of water meters. Must successfully complete Annual
C.P.R. Certification training and successfully completed biannual
multi-media first aid course. Must have successfully completed
Placement (Group 010 “Instrument Mechanics II”)/Performance
Exercises. Must have successfully completed Physical Abilities
Test (PCM II). Must have a valid driver’s license from state of
Works outside. Subject to the hazards of weather, heavy
lifting, stress handling hostile customers, bending, stooping,
crouching and kneeling for extended periods.
