Under close supervision, apply entry-level established engineering principles in the design of
electric, gas and water facilities for residential and commercial customers which include
relocations, installations and removals; within specific guidelines, provide engineering and
technical assistance to design personnel, customers, architects and various external entities;
assist in computer-aided design/drafting as required; and may occasionally assist District
Engineer 3 in reviewing design work of staff for training purposes.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Must have knowledge of and
ability to apply entry-level principles of engineering. Must successfully complete NIMS Training
within one year of entering job. Must have a valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
Works inside and outside under good conditions. Subject to construction hazards and
conditions while making field inspections
