The Memphis Public Library & Memphis Library Foundation are delighted to offer POP QUIZ Tunes and Trivia for $20. This is a monthly virtual gathering for music & trivia buffs to support the Memphis Library Foundation!

We have plenty of virtual activities to explore:

  • Dig Memphis Mysteries: Help us solve archival mysteries using your own knowledge or online tools such as old city directories, newspapers, and more.
  • Virtual Escape Rooms: Our teen librarians have set up virtual escape rooms. The current room is "Memphis Murder Mystery".
  • Votes for Women: Explore our online exhibit celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment.
  • Genealogy Research: Ancestry Library is temporarily available from home. Access that and other genealogy resources from our Genealogy page.
  • Visit our Learn page to explore other topics.

computer classes

We offer several courses for beginners including classes on internet searching, email, facebook and more. Click HERE for more details.

memphis music @ the library

We provide ample opportunities to enjoy Memphis Music at the Library through nightly shows on FM 89.9 WYPL, a listening station in the History department to listen to classic/rare Memphis music. We have various live performances throughout the year. We also help teens produce their own music. Learn more HERE.

movies @ the library

Check out movies at the library to take home or find out about movies showing at the library including our acclaimed "A Wider Angle Film Series".


We can conduct outreach services such as library programming, library awareness/information, library card sign-up, STEM demonstrations, computer classes and more. Click HERE for more information.

tours of the library

We offer tours for all ages. Children who are familiar with their local libraries are more likely to become regular library users. We can also offer tours of the CLOUD901 Teen Learning Lab as well as a public art tour of Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library. Click HERE for more details.
