The Library offers numerous programs for teens. We look forward to having you in the Library, but for now we can meet virtually and share fun stories and activities. View our Calendar of Events for more information on joining.

CLOUD901 Teen Learning Lab continues to offer virtual programs for teens including:

  • Art Squad Online – Wednesdays at 4:30 PM – Art Squad is a free, teen-centered series of virtual art classes taught by local artists and illustrators. Click HERE for more information.
  • Freestyle Fridays – Fridays at 3:00 PM – A virtual program focused on the meaning behind visual Artwork. Click HERE for more information.
  • Hour of Code – Wednesdays Dec 2, 9, 16 – 4:00 PM – This program takes teens through the basics of JavaScript coding language.  We will use Code.org as the teaching platform, so students will need an email address, device (computer/laptop, phone, or tablet), and internet to participate. CLOUD901 and the Memphis MECH Warriors Community Robotics Team is hosting a Virtual Recruitment Day for students ages 14-18 interested in FIRST robotics!

crew up – indie memphis youth filmmaking mentorship
deadline to apply – dec 13

The CrewUP Youth Filmmaking Mentorship is your chance to make a short film with other young filmmakers (between grades 7-12) as well as receive mentoring from a professional filmmaker for FREE. Apply as an individual or as your own team of three. Each group receives $500 to assist in making their film.

Paint & Sip (Teen Edition)
mon – nov 30 – 6:00 pm

Come and join us for Virtual Paint & Sip… an opportunity for participants to practice art in a relaxed environment.   This session is taught by local teen artist Jaden Spencer!  Pre-drawn canvas and paint supplies provided to the first 15 registered participants. Supplies must be picked up at the South Branch library (1929 S. Third St).

long live the king chess club

MPL’s Long Live the King Chess Club has partnered with the Friday Knight Chess Club (FKCC) to present free online chess games and activities for the community. All club games are offered through Chess.com.
