Hip Hop Artist/Musician Innovator-in-Residence – The Memphis Library Foundation


The Memphis Library Foundation is seeking a Hip Hop Artist/Musician Innovator-in-Residence at the Orange Mound Branch Library.

This unique opportunity is designed for experienced creatives who want to teach, inspire, and build community through their craft while developing their own work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead programs that teach hip hop culture and skills (MCing, DJing, etc.)
  • Mentor aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs
  • Build community connections and expand career pathways for participants

What You’ll Receive:

  • $10,000 annual stipend
  • Free workspace and access to equipment
  • Funding for program supplies and services
  • Public recognition and promotion

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of experience in the hip hop industry
  • Strong understanding of hip hop culture and its core elements
  • Experience monetizing your craft and teaching others
  • Ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences
