About the Whitehaven Library
The Whitehaven Library opened in 1953 in the Whitehaven Methodist Church. It moved into a dedicated building in 1958 on Barton Street. The current building opened in 2004.
It has 28,000 square feet and holds about 56,000 books and other items.
