
AN OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS! In conjunction with the Intergalactic Eleganza, we will be accepting any space-themed art! Category: Constellations! So buckle up space cowboy, and bring your cosmic creations and out-of-this-world art! If selected, your art will be shown at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library from September 26th until October 10th. During our Intergalactic Eleganza event on Friday, September 26th from 6-8 pm, we will have your works on display and for sale! Additionally, your works will be on display for our Vincent Astor celebration happening on Saturday, September 27th from 11am – 2pm. We ask that 10 percent of profits go to the Memphis Library Foundation to help us fund more programs like this.

SUBMISSIONS OPEN!
Submissions are open to all ages. The hard deadline for submissions will be Friday, September 19th, 2025. If accepted, you will be notified via email and given instructions to bring your art to the Humanities Department on the 2nd floor of the Benjamin L. Hooks Library by September 23rd at the latest.
Please ensure your email is correct, as this is the main way we contact you. You can also check your junk mail as well. Those accepted into the exhibition will receive further instructions on the drop off of the project and if you submitted multiple projects, which project was formally accepted into the exhibition.
If you are not chosen to be part of the exhibition, we would still encourage you to come join us on Friday, September 26th, from 6-8 pm at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library for a fun day celebrating the community! This night-time event is adults only (18+) and requires registration with ID (you can register at the welcome desk on the night of the event). The following day, on Saturday, September 27th, from 11-2 pm, is the family-friendly event where all ages are welcome!
Entry Specifications
Artwork in the following forms is accepted: Paintings, drawings, original prints, fiber art, ceramics, sculpture, photography, graphic design, jewelry, film, and fashion. Our theme for the show is “Space”, so anything related to this theme will be considered. Give us your best interpretations of what Pride means to you!
- Two-dimensional entries may be at most 70 inches by 70 inches and must be no smaller than 8 inches by 10 inches framed.
- All two-dimensional work must be framed and/or ready for display.
- Works on paper must be framed and glazed or matted.
- Three-dimensional entries may not exceed 30 pounds and 30 inches by 30 inches.
- Photography and Digital art must be printed out, matted, and framed.
- Photography and Digital Art must submit one print. You are not able to sell multiple prints.
- No sexual imagery, no drug/alcohol use depicted. (Keep it PG)

The Memphis Public Library and affiliates do not insure artworks in this exhibition while on display or while in transit to and from the Intergalactic Eleganza art show. Memphis Library Foundation/Intergalactic Eleganza art show, its staff, and its volunteers are not responsible for loss or damage to artworks in this exhibition however the damage may be caused. The entrant’s submission of the entry form constitutes an agreement to these terms and conditions. All art not retrieved by October 24th will be discarded.
