The following positions are open for immediate hire.

LEAD TRUCK DRIVER

STATUS: Full-Time, 35 hours per week

COMPENSATION:  $17.00 per hour

 

General Purpose of Position:

The Lead Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods, supplies, and donations to and from various locations and providing general operational and custodial support and all tasks related to the warehouse and departmental duties within the department under the supervision of the Senior Director of Operations & Compassionate Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit amiable demeanor with all donors, visitors, neighbors, and staff.
  • Operate a company truck to transport goods, supplies, and donations to various locations within designated routes.
  • Assist with and ensure safe loading, unloading, and secure transportation of goods to prevent damage during transit.
  • Maintain accurate logs of delivery schedules, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Follow all road safety regulations, traffic laws, and organizational policies while on the job.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, donors, and recipients to ensure smooth delivery and pickup processes.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Assist in sorting and organizing materials at the warehouse or delivery points as needed.
  • Support the logistics team with additional tasks, such as coordinating pick-ups, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Represent the organization professionally while interacting with the public, ensuring positive relationships with donors and recipients.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and organizational standards, especially when handling sensitive or perishable goods.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and clean driving record.
  • Previous truck driving experience, preferably in a non-profit or logistics role.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 75 lbs. with equipment assistance) and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team and the public.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to operate a vehicle safely in all weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of local roads and delivery routes in the area.
  • Detail-oriented with good time management skills and the ability to meet delivery deadlines.

A positive, team-oriented attitude with interest in and the ability to articulate the NCC Statement of Faith, Mission, and Values.

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment and/or in a custodial capacity.
  • Perform all other operational duties within the warehouse and department as deemed necessary by management as needed.

OPERATIONS SUPPORT/ALTERNATE TRUCK DRIVER

 

STATUS: Full-Time, 35 hours per week

COMPENSATION: $16.25 per hour

 

General Purpose of Position:

Provide general operational and custodial support and all tasks related to the warehouse and departmental duties within the department under the supervision of the Senior Director of Operations & Compassionate Services.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit amiable demeanor with staff, visitors, donors, and neighbors.
  • Accomplishes warehouse operations and organization mission by completing related goals for the results as needed.
  • Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving products, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by complying with legal regulations by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Manages the receiving of food, furniture, and all other in-kind items for distribution.
  • Services satellite sites and locations.
  • Sorts food and in-kind items for specific distributions.
  • Assists in leading the warehouse staff.
  • Restocks supplies as needed.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks as well as vehicles of neighbors, partners, etc. (as needed).
  • Serve as the alternate truck driver and assist with pick-ups and deliveries on the truck as needed. (details reviewed as appropriate)
  • Meet and greet donors with courtesy as donations are picked up or received.
  • Perform all other operational duties within the warehouse and department as deemed necessary by management as needed.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the organization’s management.

 

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and clean driving record, and the ability to drive a bob truck
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment and/or in a custodial capacity
  • Communicate and interact well with others: team members, adults, and children
  • Ability to understand multi-step written and oral procedures/instructions
  • Adherence to NCC policies/procedures, including safety and health practices
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in and the ability to articulate the NCC Statement of Faith, Mission, and Values

 

Work Conditions

  • Ability to walk, push, pull, lift, stand, as well as operate equipment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. (when needed in the warehouse)

  

OPERATIONS SUPPORT/ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST

STATUS: Full-Time, 35 hours per week

COMPENSATION: $16.00 per hour

 

General Purpose of Position:

Provide general operational and custodial support and all tasks related to the warehouse and departmental duties within the department under the supervision of the Senior Director of Operations & Compassionate Services.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by upholding standards and following specified procedures.
  • Performs limited grounds maintenance and minor repair work.
  • Performs daily cleaning and janitorial duties as scheduled and/or as needed, including dusting, wiping, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing, etc., in the building and offices.
  • Restock and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and neat utility room of supplies and equipment.
  • Remove donations from the front lobby and place them in appropriate receiving areas.
  • Assist in the control of sanitation.
  • Assist with unloading trucks: produce, donations, etc.
  • Assist with the set-up and breakdown of events.
  • Perform all other operational duties within the warehouse and department as deemed necessary by management as needed.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the organization’s management.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment and/or in a custodial capacity

SITE ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

 

STATUS: Full-Time, 35 hours per week

COMPENSATION: $16.57 per hour (4 positions)

 

General Purpose of Position:

Provide support in the daily operation of the site and work in unison with the Site Engagement Coordinator.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in carrying out all programs and services at the site.
  • Should exhibit a pleasant demeanor with neighbors, agency representatives, and staff when performing daily tasks.
  • Should thoroughly know the Site-Based Services’ departmental policies and procedure manual.
  • Prepare the sites for programs by arranging the available office space to host the programs.
  • Aggressively recruit participants for adult and youth engagement activities and all other events. (proved by weekly status updates). Recruiting includes physically knocking on tenants’ doors and letting them know about the programs that are available at the site.
  • Should be able to identify the needs of participants to maximize their optimal potential.
  • Performs home & neighbor engagement visitations using assigned assessments and tools (which include observation of the home, identifying the critical needs, and Case Management).
  • Learn and facilitate all youth engagement activities.
  • Maintain and input data for Compassionate services, adult and youth engagement programs, and services.
  • Assist with maintaining an environment for learning during programs.
  • Maintain accurate office files for program participants.
  • Attend all departmental meetings, program planning sessions, and site activities.
  • Input data for Compassionate services, adult and youth services.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management.

 

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, 1 -2 years of college preferred
  • Desire to work in urban ministry preferred.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills to work with children and adults.
  • Must have written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Interest in and ability to articulate the NCC Statement of Faith, Mission, and Values.
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license and insurance
  • Occasional off-campus travel is required (Fundraising events, meetings, etc.)

 

Work Conditions

  • Indoor and outdoor activities are subject to weather conditions
  • Those without physical limitations may be asked to participate in games/events with students (which may include excessive walking, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

 

 

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

 

STATUS: Part-Time, 27.50 Hours per week

COMPENSATION:  $15.00 per hour

 

General Purpose of Position:

To provide direct service to youth participants in the after-school program as well as administrative support for the YES department under the direction of the Youth Engagement Services Director.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        Serve as the school liaison for our youth programs for the related age group (high school: 15-18 years old) at the Power Center location.

·        Meet and collaborate with the YES team on secondary youth ministry endeavors.

·        Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of YES after-school programs, summer camps, curriculum, and evangelism efforts.

·        Work with others (volunteers, other youth workers, school administration, donors, etc.) to create an effective and continually emerging youth program at Power Center Academy.

·        Attend weekly meetings and receive training and supervision of all activities related to youth programs to ensure that the team implements the mission and values of NCC

·        Comply with all NCC policies and procedures

·        Maintain accurate attendance records and client data for each child served in the youth program

o   Input data in conformance with the policies and procedures for data collection

·        Maintain a clean and neat work area.

  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

·             1-2 years of college preferred.

·             Experience working with youth required.

·             Must maintain a positive attitude and amiable demeanor when interacting with youth program participants

·             Must have a desire to work in ministry.

·             Must have the ability to facilitate all youth programs.

·             Must possess interpersonal skills with a diverse range of socioeconomic backgrounds, including but not limited to youth, parents, and key stakeholders.

·             Must be able to identify specific needs of participants based on behavior and conduct and connect them to the proper resources.

·             Ability to lift 20 lbs.

·             Must possess advanced attention to detail.

·             Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

·             Ability to demonstrate knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
