Exploring DNA and the Genetics of Disease – East Shelby Library

November 15 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

During this program, students will explore their own DNA by extracting DNA from their own cheek cells and discuss the importance of genetic diversity. In addition, students will analyze data related to a patient with childhood cancer and consider how genetic information is used to improve the treatment of children with cancer. Activities will include: DNA extraction, Genetic Tree, and Case Study.
