Your Family, Your Library Exhibition


Your Family, Your Library exhibition is open April 15, 2024 to April 29, 2024 in the Cossitt Library.

  • Submissions are open and will be judged by a team of accomplished artists who have been provided a rubric for judging. We will not be able to provide any judging feedback.
  • Notifications on acceptance or non acceptance will be sent by March 28th.
  • You may submit up to three projects. From the three submissions, we will choose one to be displayed.
  • Those accepted into the exhibition will receive further instructions on the drop off of the project and if you submitted multiple projects, which project was formally accepted into the exhibition.
  • No sexual imagery, no drug/alcohol use depicted.
  • Notification on submission will be sent via email by: please ensure your email is correct as this is the main way we contact you. You can also check your junk mail as well.
  • If you are not chosen to be part of the exhibition, we would still encourage you to come join us for a fun day celebrating community and libraries!

Important Dates

  • Entries Accepted: March 1st to March 26th at 11:59pm
  • Notifications to accepted artists via email: March 28th
  • Notifications to non-accepted artists via email: March 28th
  • Drop off Accepted Artwork: March 30th – April 6th at Cossitt Library
  • Dates of Exhibit: April 15-29 at Cossitt Library

Who is Eligible

  • The exhibition is open to artists of all ages in Memphis/Shelby County TN area.

Eligible Work

  • Artwork in the following forms is accepted: Paintings, drawings, original prints, photography, and graphic design.
  • All components must be affixed; no separate parts.
  • Cossitt cannot accept performance or installation works at this time.
  • Only original artworks by the entering artist will be accepted; no reproductions.
  • Cossitt may refuse to exhibit any work that does not comply with the juried image or that Cossitt is unsuitable for display.

Entry Specifications

  • Two-dimensional entries may be at most 70 inches by 70 inches and must be no smaller than 8 inches by 10 inches framed.
  • All two-dimensional work must be framed and/or ready for display.
  • Works on paper must be framed and glazed or matted.
  • Photography and Digital Art must be printed out, matted, and framed.

We reserve the right to photograph and reproduce all works accepted into the exhibition for educational and media purposes
