What is a 3D printer?
3D Printing, also called additive manufacturing, is a process of making three dimensional, solid objects from a digital file. Traditional printers also convert digital files into something tangible (words printed on a page), but 3D printers add an additional dimension: up. A 3D printer creates objects by laying down successive layers of material, each of which is a horizontal cross-section of the final object.

Do I have to pay for access to the equipment in CLOUD901?
No, all of the equipment in CLOUD901 is free to use, however due to the likelihood of high-demand equipment, reserving a spot in advance may be required. To reserve equipment, teens should check the online calendar and/or with staff in the CLOUD901 check in area.

Can I use the equipment if I have library fines?
Yes, CLOUD901 is a space of its own and teens are not penalized for activity elsewhere, however teens are expected to take care of all responsibilities when checking out anything at the Memphis Library.
