For March, A Wider Angle will present the 2019 dramatic thriller A White, White Day, written and directed by Icelandic filmmaker Hlynur Pálmason. The film won Best Film at the Torino Film Festival and was selected as Iceland’s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.

Are you a creative between the ages of 13 and 18 with a passion for your city? Memphis Public Library is launching Heart of 901, a new media project designed to give you a platform to highlight the best of our city.

Read 1,000 pages over the challenge period, complete fun reading challenges, and check in monthly at the library for instant prizes.

For March, we’re reading My Brilliant Career, a 1901 novel by Miles Franklin, published when she was just 21. A cornerstone of Australian and women’s literature, it follows the fiercely independent Sybylla as she rejects traditional expectations. The acclaimed 1979 film adaptation launched the careers of Gillian Armstrong, Judy Davis, and Sam Neill.
